The Power of Stillness

“Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations,
I am exalted in the earth.” —Psalm 46:10
I find my center in quiet times. When I can stop and listen to nothing, God is there. Don’t get me wrong; I like laughter, music, and the sounds of nature. It’s just that I am renewed by solitude and quiet. God’s word is clearer to me in the silence, and God’s strength is vivid in stillness.
Looking back on my life, I know that the quiet times before or after a storm have prepared me for facing it or healed me after it passed. I am so grateful for the quiet. I seek it out when and wherever I can. God is there.

Personal Reflection:
When was the last time you truly sat in stillness with God? Take a few moments to quiet your mind and listen. What do you sense God saying to you?
Daily Action:
Take a silent walk with someone. Be present within creation together and then reflect on that experience.
